Foreman Fabricators Makes Mounting Attachment for Medical Equipment at BJC

Barnes Jewish Hospital, a part of the BJC Healthcare system in St. Louis, Missouri, uses an important piece of equipment, a Bernoulli Client Bridge, to allow them to access and use data from multiple medical devices for real time analysis and remote alarm management. The bridge is essentially a modem that transmits data from a patient’s bedside monitoring systems to a central computer in the hospital where patients vital signs can be recorded and monitored, and the information can be automatically stored and associated with the hospital’s Electronic Medical Records system (EMR).

The problem BJC was having is that since the Bernoulli Client Bridge is an add on product, there is no convenient place to store the bridges when they are in use bedside. The hospital staff had been using Velcro to hold the client bridges to the back of monitors, but the bridges were prone to being knocked off and falling to the floor whenever the monitor was bumped or an elbow brushed the device. BJC described the problem to Foreman and asked them to help design a solution for this recurring issue.

The team at Foreman Fabricators came up with a simple design for a holder that was easily affixed to a monitor using readily available plastic cable ties. The finished product is a “J” shaped holder made of 18 gauge brush finish stainless steel. The holder is made in two pieces, with the main part formed from a laser cut blank bent to form the “J” shape and one of the sides, and the second piece cut to match the “J” shape of the partially formed holder; the second piece is then welded to the main piece to complete the pocket that holds the Bernoulli Client Bridge securely in place. The holder designed and fabricated by Foreman solved BJC’s issue of where to safely put the Bernoulli Client Bridges when they were in use. The solution offered Barnes Jewish Hospital an easily installed, cost effective way to house and protect these important pieces of equipment.

Aluminum Treadbrite Truck Organizer

A local fire department needed a custom truck organizer with extreme durability and a very specific layout for efficient access to emergency equipment.  A fireman in the department had a specific idea and vision of what would work, but there was nothing available on the market to fill the need! Foreman worked closely with the department to come up with a design that would integrate into the available space in the fire engine and still have the capacity to hold the equipment specified.  The end result was a welded Treadbrite box that fulfilled the requirements, and looked great.  The department was so pleased, they ordered a second one shortly after the first one was installed.
